We stopped off after a long walk from Dun Laoghaire to Dalkey, and had a lovely meal here. Great outdoor seating, super nice staff and the food was great, especially the mussels served with brown bread. Yeah. Nice afternoon.

Response from the owner

Thanks a million, Seamus! It sounds like you picked the perfect spot to recharge after your walk. We're delighted you enjoyed the food, our outdoor seating, and the warm welcome from the team. It's fantastic to hear the mussels and brown bread were a highlight! We really appreciate your lovely review and look forward to seeing you again soon.

We came at 5pm on a Friday for some food. The Shepherds Pie was inedible and when I complained, there was no apology, they just did not charge for it. The Aperol Spritz had no prosecco in it. We were really surprised at the overall quality.

Response from the owner

Dear Derek,
Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. We’re very sorry to hear that your visit did not meet the standards we expect at The Queens, particularly regarding the Shepherd’s Pie and your Aperol Spritz.
We have spoken with the team member who looked after you, as we take feedback like this seriously. Our understanding is that when the issue with the Shepherd’s Pie was raised, he apologised, offered to replace the dish with something else and, when this was declined, removed it from your bill. We’re sorry if this apology and effort to resolve the issue did not come across as clearly as intended at the time.
We are also disappointed to hear about your Aperol Spritz and will be following this up with our bar team, as it should, of course, have been prepared correctly.
We appreciate you bringing these points to our attention. Your experience clearly fell short of what we want our guests to enjoy at The Queens, and we will use your feedback to address this with both our kitchen and bar teams.

This is one of the few places where, over the years, they have not taken advantage of their fame and popularity, by screwing their patrons. They still have really tasty good food at reasonable prices. The drinks are not overpriced and we just happened to be blessed by the beautiful weather where we sat out, thoroughly enjoyed it, and would thoroughly recommend it.

Response from the owner

Thank you so much for your thoughtful review! It's wonderful to hear you enjoyed the food, drinks, and the atmosphere on such a beautiful day. We're delighted you had such a relaxing experience, and your recommendation truly means a lot to us. We look forward to welcoming you back again soon!
